I'm going to be reading some Murakami too in the next few months, I've heard such good things about him.Green Roadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14812805199173514409noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7892722103504759154.post-417506909925943622009-08-17T19:13:08.675-04:002009-08-17T19:13:08.675-04:00Congratulations! Considering it's one of my favorite cultures - I probably should do this challenge and learn a few. :)Allisonhttp://www.wellreadreviews.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7892722103504759154.post-1254069015051390332009-08-05T10:12:17.080-04:002009-08-05T10:12:17.080-04:00Murakami is so wonderful!! There is just so much going on at times and he is just so imaginative that it takes me awhile sometimes to get a grasp of where he may be going with a book. I just love his writing.

I think its cool we are reading the same books for the challenge. It will be great to share what we thought about the books. Looking forward to it! It's the only Murakami I've read but I guess is representative of his work as it is very surreal.

I'm glad we're reading Kitchen and The Housekeeper together! (I also notice you're reading Monica ALi's In the Kitchen. I'll be reading that, too, for the Spice of Life CHallenge. Yoshimoto's Kitchen is an overlap for both challenges. :D)clairehttp://kissacloud.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7892722103504759154.post-43616406073619829832009-07-31T13:12:53.346-04:002009-07-31T13:12:53.346-04:00Thanks for the welcome! I remember that after I finished After Dark I was just very disappointed with it. However, after discussing it with a friend I found myself recalling things that made me recognize what a great book it really is, which made me reread it.Nadiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14315207186180201488noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7892722103504759154.post-78268138087144413672009-07-31T10:30:05.286-04:002009-07-31T10:30:05.286-04:00I'm so glad that you're joining in, Nadia!...I'm so glad that you're joining in, Nadia! I read Kafak on The Shore for the second time this summer because I absolutely love it. (It isn't a clear book, but rather open to one's interpretation, but a second reading really helped my understanding!) I've heard such good things about The Housekeeper and The Professor, so I'll try to add that to my list this time around. Anyway, welcome!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
