I'm not saying it's the best book ever written (and there are a few problems with it), but I think if you get a few chapters in you'll find it pretty compelling. At least, I hope you do!Stephhttp://www.stephandtonyinvestigate.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7892722103504759154.post-72382262825347966402009-09-15T18:18:24.054-04:002009-09-15T18:18:24.054-04:00Steph thanks for the link to your review - I just ...Steph thanks for the link to your review - I just read it and I think I am going to give In The Woods another go. It does sound like it has its problems, but that overall it is a good book. I hadn't made it past the first 20 pages so maybe I wasn't giving it a fair shot. We'll see how it goes this time round. Cheers!!Nadiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14315207186180201488noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7892722103504759154.post-7039960270379239142009-09-15T16:20:13.629-04:002009-09-15T16:20:13.629-04:00How much of the French have you read? I found the first bit (Prologue and maybe the first chapter) a bit hard to get into, but then I got into the rhythm of her writing and really enjoyed it; it will probably be one of my favorite books of the year (well, maybe French's "The Likeness" will beat it out, because I liked that one even more). In the end the writing might not be for you, but I'd say that if you haven't made it past the first 30 pages or so, you should maybe give it another shot!

If you're curious, here's the review I wrote about In The Woods: http://www.stephandtonyinvestigate.com/?p=1514Stephhttp://www.stephandtonyinvestigate.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7892722103504759154.post-41762778836499767562009-09-15T15:01:04.896-04:002009-09-15T15:01:04.896-04:00Thanks Mishel! By the by, I totally get why you are reading it by publication date, I do that too sometimes.
