An Invincible Summer by Mariah Stewart

(Thank you to the publisher and TLC Book Tours for providing me with a copy of this book!)

about book:

It was a lifetime ago that recently widowed Maggie Flynn was in Wyndham Beach. Now, on the occasion of her fortieth high school reunion, she returns to her hometown on the Massachusetts coast, picking up right where she left off with dear friends Lydia and Emma. But seeing Brett Crawford again stirs other emotions. Once, they were the town’s golden couple destined for one another. He shared Maggie’s dreams—and eventually, a shattering secret that drove them apart.

Buying her old family home and resettling in Wyndham Beach means a chance to start over for Maggie and her two daughters, but it also means facing her rekindled feelings for her first love and finally confronting—and embracing—the past in ways she never thought possible. Maggie won’t be alone. With her family and friends around her, she can weather this stormy turning point in her life and open her heart to the future. As for that dream shared and lost years ago? If Maggie can forgive herself, it still might come true.

my thoughts:

Talk about the perfect summer read! An Invincible Summer by Mariah Stewart is chock full of emotion, friendships, family, drama, romance, and reunions. It's an engaging and thoughtful story that will captivate. I just loved getting lost in this book on a hot, spring day here in South Florida. Definitely brightened the mugginess of my day and my mood.

Maggie is a widow with two daughters. She's heading back to her hometown for her fortieth high school reunion. She's excited to see her two best friends, Lydia and Emma. Talk about blast from the vibes for Maggie. Except once she's back in town, she's not that thrilled to run into her old high school boyfriend, Brett - things ended rather badly, to say the least. And she's just found out that her childhood home is for sale - should she buy it? Can her family settle down here in her old hometown and start fresh? Is this the right move for them all? Talk about big decisions to make and deal with. Also, some pretty big secrets and revelations will finally be let loose, turning this trip home into more than just a happy reunion.

Stewart has written a terrific story filled with small town charm, fun and interesting characters, and relatable storylines that will definitely hook you from the start. She's created a book that will excite her fans and will draw in new readers with its top notch writing and fantastic storytelling. An Invincible Summer is one book you won't want to miss out on - definitely check it out!
