about book:
The Hunting Wives share more than target practice, martinis, and bad behavior in this novel of obsession, seduction, and murder.
Sophie O’Neill left behind an envy-inspiring career and the stressful, competitive life of big-city Chicago to settle down with her husband and young son in a small Texas town. It seems like the perfect life with a beautiful home in an idyllic rural community. But Sophie soon realizes that life is now too quiet, and she’s feeling bored and restless.
Then she meets Margot Banks, an alluring socialite who is part of an elite clique secretly known as the Hunting Wives. Sophie finds herself completely drawn to Margot and swept into her mysterious world of late-night target practice and dangerous partying. As Sophie’s curiosity gives way to full-blown obsession, she slips farther away from the safety of her family and deeper into this nest of vipers.
When the body of a teenage girl is discovered in the woods where the Hunting Wives meet, Sophie finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation and her life spiraling out of control.
my thoughts:
What a book! I love, love, loved it! The Hunting Wives was such a treat to read!
Sophie and her family relocate from Chicago to a small town in Texas. They are in search of a better life - a safe community to raise their son in. Life is quiet, routine, and extremely boring for Sophie. She is just not jiving with small town life. Until she finds a way in to an elite society called The Hunting Wives. Margot Banks is the head of the group and she is the socialite ruling the town's social scene. So, Sophie is ecstatic when she joins the group for one of their nightly rituals of shooting and martinis. Except, the more Sophie gets to know this group of women, the more her life begins to spin out of control. Yep, seems like these socialites have more than booze and gossip on their agendas - suffice it to say, Sophie definitely gets more than she bargained for when she joins this group.
Cobb has written such a fun and exciting book. The characters are crazy, flawed, relatable, and unforgettable. The story is chock full of drama, mystery, and suspense. And the writing is superb. This is one murder mystery you won't want to miss out on!

The cover and what you shared here makes it sound a little forbidden. Could make for a very fun page-turner.
