about book:
The multimillion-copy New York Times bestselling author B.A. Paris returns to her heartland of gripping psychological suspense in The Therapist--a powerful tale of a house that holds a shocking secret.
When Alice and Leo move into a newly renovated house in The Circle, a gated community of exclusive houses, it is everything they’ve dreamed of. But appearances can be deceptive…
As Alice is getting to know her neighbours, she discovers a devastating secret about her new home, and begins to feel a strong connection with Nina, the therapist who lived there before.
Alice becomes obsessed with trying to piece together what happened two years before. But no one wants to talk about it. Her neighbors are keeping secrets and things are not as perfect as they seem…
my thoughts:
What a great summer read! I just LOVED The Therapist by B. A. Paris. It is perfect for taking on vacation, or if you plan on spending a day at the beach. There is mystery, suspense, thrills, and so much DRAMA! I absolutely enjoyed staying up til the wee hours with this one.
Alice and Leo move into a beautiful home in a lovely gate community called The Circle. It is a dream come true and they are thrilled to be living in such a terrific place. Except, as Alice gets to know her neighbors and the house, she finds out some news that shocks her. Turns out her new home was the scene of a murder. Yep, the woman who used to live in the house was found dead in her bedroom. Alice is horrified and can't believe that their realtor would sell them a house with such a terrifying history. Turns out her partner, Leo, knew all about it. He thought it best not to tell her and even went so far as to ask their new neighbors not to tell Alice about it. Say what?! Talk about deceitful. Alice begins to wonder what else Leo has kept from her. The more she digs around for information, the more dangerous her new neighborhood becomes. And, that is all I will share about this thrilling read. Definitely check it out to find out the truth about the home, their new neighbors, Leo, and Alice's own past - you won't help but be shocked.
Paris has written another fun and exciting story that will keep you reading all night long. Her story will hook you from the start and keep you guessing all the way through. Plus, her characters are so flawed and unreliable, that you won't know who to believe. All of this makes for such a great story. I know that I'm always excited to read a new B. A. Paris book, so I was definitely looking forward to getting my hands on a copy of The Therapist.
I would happily recommend The Therapist to fans of Paris and to anyone looking for their next great read - you will LOVE this book!!
