about book:

The matchmaker wore a collar…

Elise Mackenzie is committed to making the Furever Paws fundraiser a huge success. She’s even roped in her landlord and new boss, Harris Vega, for help. But spending so much time with Harris, especially around an adorable puppy named Pancake, is giving the usually shy Elise ideas she shouldn’t be having. Could a man like Harris really think twice about a woman more comfortable with flour on her face than lipstick?

my thoughts:

It Started with a Puppy by Christy Jeffries is the twelfth book in the popular, Furever Yours series, by Harlequin Special Edition - and it is fantastic! A pup named Pancake, a shy gal named Elise, and a charming landlord - what more could you want?

Elise lived with her aunt Regina - a horrible woman who was constantly putting Elise down and making her feel badly about herself. She was also the kind of woman who would take on a project, leave town, and let Elise pick up the pieces in her wake. Yep, she was downright awful. Luckily for Elise, she is out of sight. So, now Elise can start to live her life. She's moved into a new place, where she is making repairs on  it in exchange for a lower rent. And, she is befriending her handsome new landlord, Harris. In fact, their relationship begins to blossom and Elise finds herself growing into herself more and more. Of course, drama enters the scene in the form of Regina. Yep, her aunt is back and ready to knock Elise down a peg or three. Soon, Harris and Elise are having problems they never seemed to have before and their relationship is taking a turn for the worse. Yikes!

Jeffries has written an unputdownable romance that will have you flipping pages faster and faster, so you can find out if Elise will finally stand up to her aunt Regina. Talk about an engaging and entertaining read! I just loved It Started with a Puppy to bits! I would happily recommend it to anyone and everyone looking for their next great read - check it out!
