Monday Musings...

Feeling exhausted from this holiday weekend that consisted of decluttering, stressing out over ordering planners on the Hobonichi website, and feeling 'meh'. Ugh. And yet, it's a new month, so I am going to push those negative feelings aside and focus on the positive. Plus, did I mention that I was lucky enough to receive an early copy of Alexander McCall Smith's new book, The Great Hippopotamus Hotel - the 25th book in The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series. Woo hoo! I love that series - it's one of my favorites. I always look forward to each new book and immediately devour them. So, I will be gobbling this one up ASAP - hurrah!

I just finished a journal and am ready to grab a new one for September. I've been filing up old journals that I left half-filled. It's fun to read old journal entries from twenty years ago. It's also kind of weird that I'm avoiding all the new, empty journals sitting on my shelves. Hmm...well, I do plan on using a brand new one for Halloween, so that will be good. What I mean is that I'm trying to use what I have, so I should be using the new, blank journals not the old ones. LOL! I'm overthinking it.

I've been listening to The Chicks, because their album Fly turned 25 years old the other day. Plus, I love their music. And their cover of Landslide is ace!

And now, I'm off to bake some sweet treats for the holiday - I'm thinking cupcakes and brownies. Yum! Wishing you all a lovely week! Happy reading!

I think it's the journal writing itself that matters, not necessarily the journal you're writing in. And anyday you get a new book is a good day. Hope you enjoy the rest of your Monday. I'm off to do applesause with my sisters. Wish me luck. ;D

Yes! You are so right! It's what's inside the journal that counts, not the journal. So true! I'm realizing that after I got so stressed out over ordering a planner online - major website malfunctions that everyone was talking about for days after. I couldn't believe how I let it stress me out. Ridiculous! So, yeah, I'm definitely focusing on what I write, not what I write it in :) Thank you! Good luck with the applesauce with your sisters - sounds like fun! Enjoy! :)

This Labor Day weekend WAS exhausting. I didn't really DO much but everything seemed to take extra effort. And decluttering? Was a goal but that went out the window when I became sluggish. It's allowed. Now and then. I honestly thought I might be coming down with COVID because I was exposed and just seemed so so tired but nope. No COVID.

Ti, that is tough. I'm glad it's not COVID, but I'm sorry you're feeling that way. It's definitely allowed. Especially after all you've gone through this year alone - and I'm sure the recovery takes a long time. So, even though it's exhausting, you are definitely doing much better :)
