Here are 3 more reading challenges that I am participating in. I forgot to post about these and I figured since I just posted about the Everything Austen II challenge, it would be a good time to post about these three. Plus, you never know who's on the lookout for joining in on all of this reading fun! So here goes:
Dolce Bellezza's 4th Japanese Literature Challenge began in June, but it runs through January 30, 2011. So you can definitely still participate if you like. The goal of the challenge is to simply read 1 or more books of Japanese literature between those dates I mentioned and that is it! How easy is that?! Technically, I already completed this challenge, because I read Hotel Iris by Yoko Ogawa and according to Bellezza, reading 1 book completes the challenge. However, I plan on reading some Murakami and a Yoshimoto book, so I'm not done just yet. Anyhow, please join in on the fun if you are in the mood for some Japanese Literature. For more info, just check out Bellezza's site here.
Paris in July - bliss! What a lovely idea for a challenge. Thanks to Bookbath and Thyme for Tea, that is exactly what I will be doing in July - enjoying Paris! Well, actually, I'll be enjoying Paris via books, film, music and food. And let me just say, I'm really looking forward to it! The challenge runs through the entire month of July. All you have to do is blog about anything French - how great is that!?! So, just read a French book (fiction or non-fiction), watch a French movie, listen to French music, cook some French food or experience French art, architecture or travel and you are gold! For more info, check out Bookbath or Thyme for Tea. Hope you join us on our Parisian adventure!
3. The Summer Reading Challenge 2010
Hosted by Coconut Library, this reading challenge is rather straight forward. Beginning June 1, 2010 and ending on August 31, 2010, all you have to do is read. The goal is to have read 3000 pages by the end of the challenge. How simple is that!?! I like this challenge, because it will help me to keep track of how much I've read and also because it'll inspire to read more this summer so that I can hit that mark of 3000. So far I've read 880 pages, which is not too shabby. Combined with the other challenges I'm participating in, I'm sure to reach 3000 before summer's end. If you want to join in on the fun, check out CL's site here.
Alright, well I'm off to read. Cheers and happy reading!!!

So happy you're in for the JLC4! I'm also really looking forward to Paris in July. We're going to have great fun together, I think. Do you know what you'll read for the Paris Challenge? I'm thinking Barbery's Gourmet Rhapsody, but I'm not sure.
Bellezza, that is great idea for the Paris in July challenge. I wanted to read another Barbery book and that one would fit the bill perfectly. Thanks! I'm not sure what else I'll be reading for Paris in July - possibly a Jean Rhys novel. Hmmm. Anyhow, I'm loving the JLC4 and reading everyone's reviews - they give me such great ideas for what books to add to my TBR pile.
Books about Paris - so many to choose from. For something different - Henry Miller, Black Spring. Japanese? I've only read Murukami but am sure there are plenty of others
Looks like you have some fun challenges, I hope you're better at keeping up with them than I am. These seem to be shorter challenges and I signed up for a bunch of year long ones. I should have signed up for shorter ones because I love to challenge myself short term. Good luck!
Thanks for sharing the challenge here Nadia! Seeing how many pages people are reading is keeping me motivated to pick up a book instead of the remote. Now if only I could keep off the computer. :)
The Paris challenge looks appealing to me too because I LOVE everything French. I might have to give it a go!
Tom C - thanks for recommending some things. I have yet to read any Miller, so that's a thought. As for the Japanese reading challenge, I was thinking of Ogawa, Yoshimoto, or Oe. There are so many great writers out there.
Ash - they are fun challenges, I'm just hoping I can complete them all. Thanks for the luck, I'm going to need it! And as for you and your challenges - keep on trucking! I'm sure you'll finish them all - good luck to you!!
Wallace - no problem! Of course I'd mention your challenge - its such a good one! It helps keep us all motivated to keep reading :) Do join in on the Paris in July challenge - that one should be a treat to do, because you can watch films, eat food or go to an exhibit - its not just about reading. Should be fun!
I really should head over to Coconut Library and sign up for that challenge--heck, I'm a third of the way to 3000 pages already. But I just can't bear to take on another challenge, even if I think I can do it!
Lisa, I know what you mean! Sometimes it seems overwhelming having joined so many challenges - especially since these are just a few of the ones I'm working on. But it is so much fun, isn't it? Good luck with your challenges, Lisa!
Can't wait to read your French posts. Good luck with the reading challenge. Lately I have been on the go so much that I have started listening to audio books while in the car. I don't think that would count for reading though, would it.
Good luck with your challenges! I really should do the Paris in July challenge.
Amy DeTrempe, I think audiobooks definitely still count :)
bermudaonion, thanks! And I say join in on the Paris in July challenge - it'll be fun to read everyone's posts about books, films, food, etc.
Good luck in your challenges and thanks for sharing! I'm going to be poking around those sites and see which one(s) I'm going to jump on board for. :)
Thanks for sharing the Summer Reading Challenge. Since it started June 1st I think I'm already 1,000 pages in so I better go sign up!
I also wanted to say hi! I found you via Scribbles and am a new follower :)
kimberlyloomis - Thanks! I hope you join in on one of them and have fun with it. I think its great that there is so much variety with the challenges - it really inspires me to read more.
Brenna - Hi! Thanks for finding me - I love Scribble's blog. I just discovered your blog and love it! I just commented on your Rob Pattinson post - he is rather dreamy :) Good luck with the challenge!
