Find Momo: A Photography Book by Andrew Knapp

(Thank you to the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book!)
about book:

PLAY HIDE-AND-SEEK WITH AN ADORABLE BORDER COLLIE (AND INTERNET SUPERSTAR)!

In the fall of 2012, photographer Andrew Knapp took his border collie, Momo, into the woods to play catch.  Knapp grabbed a stick and gave it a throw, but Momo was not interested in retrieving it - he wanted to play a game of hide-and-seek.  After a bit of searching, Knapp found Momo hidden behind some trees.  The beauty of the scene inspired Knapp to pick up his camera and snap a few photos of Momo, which he began posting to Instagam with the #findmomo hashtag.  Momo soon became an Internet sensation: his Instagram feed quickly gained more than 100,000 followers, and Knapp's project garnered interest from the media (Huffington Post, Mashable, and ABCNews.com).

Find Momo: A Photography Book (Quirk Books; March 4, 2014; $14.95) is Knapp's collection of charming photography that invites readers to play hide-and-seek with this ever-cute, ever-patient, ever-eager border collie who is skilled at hiding in a variety of settings.  With plenty of never-before-seen photos, readers will look for Momo in famous locales like Central Park in New York City and Millennium Park in Chicago, as well as in fields, snow banks, and toy stores.

Full of striking and unforgettable images, Find Momo is part art book and part "Where's Waldo?" and it will challenge and inspire dog lovers, photography buffs, and curious readers of all ages.

my thoughts:

Find Momo by Andrew Knapp was the perfect way to spend my morning the other day.  Sat with a cuppa and book in hand, I found myself flipping page after page, searching for the adorable pooch named Momo.  Hidden within the various landscapes and settings that Knapp photographed, Momo wasn't always easy to spot, which made this book even more mesmerizing - I couldn't stop staring at the image until I found him!  Of course, it wasn't just Momo that I was taken with - I was captivated by Knapp's fantastic photography.   From abandoned buildings, toy stores, and the woods, Knapp covers a lot of ground in his book - he really seems to capture the vast and eclectic mix that is North America.  He just has a knack for showcasing the beauty of the old, neglected, and oft-forgotten buildings and landscapes that surround us.  Flipping through these pages was the highlight of my day and I can't wait to share the book with my sister and friends - they are going to fall in love with Momo (and Knapp's photos)!

I would absolutely recommend this book to fans of photography, photo books, hide-and-seek books, and pet lovers.   And, to give you a taste of Knapp's work, here's the link to his tumblr website:  gofindmomo and his Instagram account: andrewknapp - check them out!!
