Non-Bookish Thoughts...

I have been reading up a storm lately and loving every minute of it.  The only problem is that I haven't been too eager to post about these reads.  I'm hoping that I get a chance to rectify the situation this weekend.   Then again, I've been feeling a bit out of sorts regarding my blogging - I just feel that I'm in a slump.  Everything I review feels too similar - its like I can't think of new ways to write about how much I loved a book. Ugh!  Maybe its the weather - Fall is nigh.  Of course, I have noticed other bloggers mentioning their blogging slumps as well, so maybe its something the water.  Aside from blogging, my thoughts are wrapped up in...
  • Planning my mom's 60th birthday bash.  My sis and I are throwing it for her next month and we are excited!  We've booked the location, picked the food, made the guest list and checked it twice.  Now we just need to get the DJ a play list, pick the cake, make the party favors, and write a little speech to make the toast with.  We are so looking forward to good food, lots of dancing, and visiting with all of our out-of-town guests!  Can't wait!
  • The Cosby Show.  Yep, I'm currently addicted to watching the Huxtable family and all of their non-drama.  That show is hilarious and I can't help but laugh out loud each time I watch an episode.  Binge-watching a TV show is the best!
  •  De-cluttering my desk.  It is a huge mess at the moment - full of books, papers, receipts, pens, notebooks, etc.  I just need to organize it and shelve those books.  Looking at it drives me bonkers!
  • Figuring out what foods I can't eat.  My acid reflux is acting up and I just need to tackle the problem, which is eating all the foods that activate it - ugh!  I'm going to miss orange juice, chocolate, and pizza.
  • Listening to the new Better Than Ezra CD, All Together Now.  I am just loving it to bits!  Reminds me of college when I was obsessed with their music.  I've seen them three times in concert and they get better each time.

  •  Fall.  I'm already thinking about the upcoming holiday season.  I can't help it when all the stores already have Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas decorations up.  Its crazy, but I love it!  I'm already planning the Thanksgiving menu - yum!  And, I'm excited about decorating for Fall - I want to do it before the relatives start showing up for my mom's party next month.   Oh, and I can't wait for The Walking Dead to start.  How are they going to get out of that train?  Are Rick and Carl going to reunite with baby Judith?  And what about Beth - where is she?  So many questions to be answered and I can't wait!
Hope everyone has a great weekend! I'm off to tackle some more party planning and hopefully sneak an episode or two of The Cosby Show. Cheers!

I love fall! I already did my decorating because I couldn't wait anymore. I wish I was making Thanksgiving dinner this year, but it's our year to go to the in laws. I love making it. :)

I'm sorry you're in a review slump. I get in those sometimes if a book isn't super fantastic. Then I just do a bunch of mini reviews to help get me out of it.

I wasn't a fan of Walking Dead until the end of last season. Now I'm looking forward to it's return!

I hope everything goes wonderfully for your mom's party! Sounds like a really great time. :)

I didn't know you suffered from reflux. I did for awhile and had to wear that 24 monitor down my throat and it determined that what I had was not true reflux but the reaction to gluten which made it feel like reflux. They thought for sure it was since they discovered a hernia but no... just gluten. That nasty stuff that I always want so badly.

The Cosby Show is great but I prefer the earlier seasons when the kids were young.

Brandie, me too! Its the best season. At least going to your in-laws means that you don't have to do all the work :) Mini reviews are a great idea - thanks! OMG! Walking Dead is amazing - love it!! So glad you love it now, too ;) I'm in love with Rick and Darryl - LOL! Thanks, I hope it all goes well too. We are super excited for it ;)

Ti, I do and it sucks! I hate it! That is crazy that your turned out to be gluten related instead. And its crazy that gluten is in everything - ack! Sorry :( Me, too! I've been watching it and am on the final season and definitely prefer the earlier seasons - they were funnier.

I love The Cosby Show. It's funny without being mean and the kids are respectful of their parents.

Kathy, me too! I love how its a family show and doesn't have cursing and nudity. Plus, its super funny :)

The Cosby Show, you crack me up. They would be a good antidote for a slump, though. Which you, me and the rest of the world seems to be suffering. Not eve moving to WordPress helped that much over here. But, I do like the new header (Virginia Woolf?) and I do like that you're having the best time reading. Can't wait to hear what your mother's birthday bash is like.

Meredith, thanks :) I know! Its pretty interesting how many of us are feeling the blogging blues lately. Yes, its Woolf - I needed a chance. Although I'm still thinking of doing something else. I'm hoping it will inspire me to blog more - LOL! I can't wait to have the bash - all the planning is getting a bit tedious, so I'm looking forward to having a good time already :) I'll let you know how it turns out. Hope you have a great weekend!

I need to get my fall decor out and I've already been doing some Christmas planning. I'm so ready for summer to be over.

I think blog slumps are so common. I went through one last year. Take time for yourself. That's important.

I love the Cosby show! I haven't seen it in years. Never seen the Walking Dead.

Holly, me too! I just love Fall ;) Thanks - you are so right about blog slumps. I think taking time for myself will help sort me out a bit :) The Cosby Show rocks! And the Walking Dead is such a great show - check it out!
