about book:
Rachel lands her dream summer job at a luxurious Tuscan villa. She’s quickly drawn into a new group of rich and beautiful sophisticates and their world of partying, toxic relationships, and even more toxic substances. They’ve never faced consequences, are used to getting everything. But then someone goes too far. Someone dies. And nothing will ever be the same.
Lizzy Barber’s debut A Girl Named Anna won the Daily Mail First Novel Competition. In her newest and even more unputdownable work, she weaves a clever and deadly web of manipulation and desire. A summer thriller rife with back-stabbing, bed-hopping, and murder, Out of Her Depth is a perfect escapist read for fans of Euphoria, J.T. Ellison’s Her Dark Lies, or Rachel Hawkins’s Reckless Girls.
my thoughts:
Out of her Depth by Lizzy Barber is a terrific psychological thriller that tackles toxic relationships in a thrilling and suspense-filled mystery that is a must-read! I just LOVED this book to bits!
Rachel is super exciting to be in Italy. She has landed the perfect summer job and is beyond thrilled! Not only will she get to practice her Italian, but she will be far away from her family - which at the moment is a must. Plus, there are all of the people she will be meeting. Talk about the perfect summer...or not? Turns out that sometimes dreams are really just nightmares. Yep, Rachel finds herself befriending Diana and crushing on Sebastian - summer breeze to the fullest! And then, Rachel discovers that these new friends are not her friends and well, summer is turning into her worst season yet!
Barber has written a great story that will captivate you from the start and keep you reading til late into the night. You will just love getting caught up in Rachel's Tuscan summer nightmare - it is gripping and unputdownable.
I would happily recommend Out of her Depth to anyone and everyone looking for their next great read - check it out!
