Burner: A Gray Man Novel by Mark Greaney

(Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book!)

about book:

Court Gentry is caught between the Russian mafia and the CIA in this latest electrifying thriller in the #1 New York Times bestselling Gray Man series.

When you kick over a rock, you never know what's going to crawl out.

Alex Velesky is about to discover that the hard way. He's stolen records from the Swiss bank that employs him, thinking that he'll uncover a criminal conspiracy. But he soon finds that he's tapped into the mother lode of corruption. Before he knows it, he's being hunted by everyone from the Russian mafia to the CIA.

Court Gentry and his erstwhile lover, Zoya Zakharova, find themselves on opposites poles when it comes to Velesky. They both want him but for different reasons.

That's a problem for tomorrow. Today they need to keep him and themselves alive. Right now, it's not looking good.

my thoughts:

An action-packed spy thriller that will keep you up til the wee hours reading, because you have to find out what is going to happen to Court and Zoya - will they succeed, will they fail, and at what cost? Burner by Mark Greaney is the twelfth novel in his popular series, A Gray Man... and it is ACE! I loved it! I've never read the series, so I had no clue what to expect and let me just say, that was the best way to read this book (for me, at least). Why? Because, I was able to fall in deep with these characters and their mission, which happened to be on opposing teams: CIA or Russian Mafia. Yep, talk about a political nightmare.

Greaney has written a terrific story that captures your attention right from the start. Alex is convinced the Swiss bank he works at is involved in something sketchy, so he digs for information to prove he's right. Except, he finds corruption so massive, that he soon finds himself on the run from everyone. So, it's up to Court and Zoya to find Alex and the records he took ASAP, or else.  Turns out that Alex's life may not be the only one on the line. And, that is all I will write, because this book is so damn good - you have to read it for yourself!

I would definitely recommend Burner to fans of Greaney's A Gray Man series and to anyone looking for their next great read - you are going to LOVE this book! I know I can't wait to read more of the series. Make sure to check it out!
