After a tragic accident, six friends reunite for a caving expedition. Their adventure soon goes horribly wrong when a collapse traps them deep underground and they find themselves pursued by bloodthirsty creatures. Love the movie and I love this book! Friends, caves, darkness, creatures, and lies - what more could you ask for, right? Especially in a horror film and book.
When I saw that a novelization of the film had been created, I just knew that I had to get my hands on a copy of the book. And, I'm so happy that I did. I mean, who doesn't want to read a story about a group of friends reuniting for a caving expedition, especially when the adventure turns into a nightmare - Yikes! Not only did I find myself imagining the film as I read the story, but I found myself easily caught up in all the thrills and chills of the story. I also wound up watching the movie again - how could I not? The book and movie go hand in hand, and make for a terrifically exciting pairing. I truly enjoyed reading The Descent late into the night and found myself jumping at every creak and knock I heard. Talk about the perfect story for Halloween month!
I would happily recommend The Descent to anyone and everyone looking for their next spooktacular read - you are going to LOVE this one! Make sure to keep the lights on when you go to sleep. Happy reading!
