A new year means new resolutions. I've decided that my bookish resolutions will be simple: read, read, read. Yep, that's pretty much it. I want to spend 2017 reading as many books as I can get my hands on. I want to read all of the books I have languishing on my shelves - including the classics. I own boxed sets of Austen's works and the Brontes' works, but somehow have only manged to read two from each set. Perhaps the bicentenary of Austen's death will inspire me to finally read the rest of her books - Persuasion, Sense and Sensibility, Mansfield Park, Northanger Abbey, and her shorter works. As for the Brontes, I think it might be fun to finally pick up The Tenant of Wildfell Hall - I've heard its fantastic. Is it? I hope so.
I also want to read all of Elizabeth Strout's books. I absolutely fell in love with My Name is Lucy Barton - it was simply the best! One of my favorite reads of 2016. I own all of her books now, and plan on purchasing her new one later this year - its called Anything is Possible and comes out April 25th.
Plus, I still need to read the new Murakami and all of his other books that I've been putting off. I didn't want to finish all of his books and have nothing left of his to read, which is crazy because he always seems to be writing something new. So, I've decided to just read all the Murakami I have left to read. Sounds like a plan, right?
Oh, and, I want to read the rest of Miriam Toews' and Ann Patchett's books. I've read a few from each author, but this coming year I want to read their entire catalog of books. I love their writing, so I figure why not read the rest of their books, right?
Of course, my main goal - aside from just reading as much as I can - is to read books that I already own. I have so many new ones sitting on my shelves begging to be read that its high time I just dove right in. I will be buying some books in 2017, but I'm limiting the amount. This year I think I went a bit overboard with my book buying and that can't happen again. So, I'm going to write a list of books coming out that I just have to have and pick a number and that will be the amount of titles from the list that I can actually purchase. Wish me luck!
And now, I'm off to continue reading the new Maisie Dobbs book, In This Grave Hour.
Happy New Year!! Happy reading!!

Books I'm looking forward to in 2017...
There are so many great books coming out in the new year and I can't wait to get my hands on them all. Here are just a few that I'm planning to read:
I am especially looking forward to In This Grave Hour, The Portrait and Inheritance From Mother. I think 2017 will be a great year for reading and I can't wait!! What about you? Which books are you looking forward to reading in the new year? Let me know, maybe there are some new-to-me titles I should add to my 2017 TBR List.
Happy Holidays!! Happy reading!!
