Wow! Talk about a terrific family drama filled with secrets, mystery, and romance. I absolutely loved Water On The Moon by Jean P. Moore. The story starts off with a bang when a plane crashes into the Raven's home one morning and turns their lives upside down. Taken in by their neighbor, Polly, the Raven family set about making sense of the plane crash, their current states of mind/life, and everything else happening around them. It truly makes for one compelling read. The story is slow-paced, which enhances the connections between past and present within these characters' relationships and history in general. Yep, seems that on the day of the crash, water is discovered on the moon and the author is able to connect the two - pretty neat, eh? Not to mention the inclusion of famed poet, Lord Byron - how about that for a bit of literary history?
Moore has written a fantastic story that is layered, engaging, and intriguing. The connections between the past and present are fascinating to say the least. I found myself unable to stop reading this book until I reached the very end - it was unputdownable! Life-changing events that lead people onto new paths - that is definitely my kind of read. I would happily recommend Water On The Moon to anyone and everyone looking for a new great read - you will LOVE this book!
