All You Could Ask For: A Novel by Mike Greenberg

(Thank you to the publisher and TLC Book Tours for providing me with a copy of this book!)
about book:

Brooke has been happily married to her college sweetheart for fifteen years.

Samantha’s newlywed bliss is steam-rolled when she finds shocking evidence of infidelity on her husband’s computer.

Katherine works eighteen hours a day for the man who irreparably shattered her heart fifteen years ago.

Brooke, Samantha, and Katherine don’t know one another yet, but all three are about to discover the conquering power of friendship—and that they have all they could ask for, as long as they have each other.

my thoughts:

After reading some thrillers, a ghost story, and a Doctor Who book I was in dire need of something without aliens or ghosts in it.  Lo and behold, All You Could Ask For by Mike Greenberg.  He is the co-host of the popular ESPN show, Mike & Mike.  Greenberg has also written two books, both of which made it onto the New York Times bestseller list.  His third book is a novel and centers on three women living with breast cancer.  He was inspired to write All You Could Ask For after he and his wife, Stacy, lost their close friend, Heidi, to breast cancer.  Mike and Stacy created a foundation called Heidi's Angels and have decided to "donate all of the author's profits from the sale of this book to The V Foundation for Cancer Research to combat breast cancer."  Talk about helping to raise awareness!

Not only does Greenberg's novel help a cause, but it truly inspires and highlights the beauty of friendship. Plus, it discusses breast cancer in an open and honest manner.  We meet Brooke, Samantha, and Katherine pre-cancer and listen in on their private thoughts about their cheating husbands, failed romances, and (un)happy marriages.  We learn about their lives as athletes, housewives, and CAOs.  We befriend these women as they manage their lives, families, households and careers.  And then we are with these women when they get diagnosed with breast cancer and their worlds are forever changed.  It is compelling, heartbreaking, and unputdownable - this book just grabbed me by the heart and wouldn't let go.

I would definitely recommend All You Could Ask For to fans of fiction, specifically women's fiction - you will love this book!

Anything that gets women more aware of breast cancer is a good thing in my opinion, and his book sounds like a fantastic read for other reasons as well.

Thanks for being on the tour.
