my thoughts:

Wow. Just, wow. Four Treasures Of The Sky by Jenny Tinghui Zhang is an amazing novel. It truly is. The writing is superb and the story is unputdownable. This is one book you most definitely do not want to miss out on. 

To be honest, I'm not even sure what to write about this book. It was just so damn good.  It's the type of story that you need to experience for yourself. The kind of the story that will sweep you away and keep you turning pages all night long. It's magical, heartbreaking, and beautiful. 

Four Treasures Of The Sky is chock full of historical fiction, Chinese folklore, magical realism, and powerful storytelling. The characters will haunt you.  Their stories will wreck you.  And the descriptions in the book are so vivid, you'll be able to smell and taste the air that the characters breathe in. This book is just the best in every which way. You will fall in deep as soon as you start to read. I absolutely LOVED it!
