my thoughts:

Whoa! What a crazy awesome book! A Small Affair by Flora Collins is a terrific mystery thriller chock full of suspense, twists and turns, and a cast of unforgettable characters. I just LOVED this book to bits!!

Vera is in her prime - young, beautiful, a successful career - when she meets Tom on a dating app. He's older, has children, recently divorced, and a tech mogul. They date very briefly. And then, Tom and his wife are found dead in their home. Vera is blamed for it all according to a note that was left behind. Say what? Yep, she's the scapegoat and now her life is over. So, she heads to her mother's home upstate and winds up hiding out for a year.  When she finally emerges out into the world, she's invited to a memorial for Tom's wife. After that, well, let's just say that Vera winds up finding out that there is way more to the Tom than she first thought. And, that is all I will share about this thrilling story - you'll just have to read it for yourself to find out what really happened.

Collins has written an unputdownable mystery that will keep you up til the wee hours. I know that I couldn't put it down until I turned that very last page - I just had to find out what would happen to Vera. Such a great story!
