R.I.P. VI Begins NOW!!!!

Exciting news!!! Carl has decided to start this year's R.I.P. VI Challenge today!! So, pick up those spooky stories and dive right in! For those of you who don't know what the R.I.P. VI Challenge is, here are the details:

The challenge runs from September 1st thru October 31st.
The goal - have fun reading books from these genres: Mystery, Suspense, Thriller, Dark Fantasy, Gothic, Horror and Supernatural.
The perils (there are quite a few to choose from and you can choose to participate at any peril or in multiple perils if you want):

Peril the First - read four books that are scary (any length)
Peril the Second -read two scary books (any length)
Peril the Third -read 1 scary book (any length)
Short Story Peril - read spooky short stories
Peril on The Screen - watch spooky movies or tv shows
Peril of the Group Read - join in on any one of Carl's group reads (three are scheduled).

The only rule of the challenge - ENJOY!

If you are interested in participating, head on over to Carl's site and sign up now!

As for me, I'm still deciding which books I want to read for this exciting challenge. I'm pretty sure I'll be participating at Peril the Second, but am aiming at finishing at Peril the First. I do know that I want to read The Reapers are the Angels and A Discovery of Witches, but that's about it for now.  Hmmm. I should probably go and peruse the bookshelves and see what else I have that qualifies as scary. If you have any ideas on what I should consider reading for this challenge, please feel free to leave me a comment and let me know. Until the next post, Happy Reading!!

Terrific to have you in on R.I.P. VI. Can't believe it has been six years already. Wild!

Hope autumn doesn't delay in its arrival. I'm ready to send summer packing at the earliest possible moment.

This is the best challenge! I can't wait to finish the book I am reading now to get started. I'd really like to get Neil Gaimen's The Graveyard Book to begin with.

I should look into A Discovery of Witches.

reviewsbylola, great! I can't wait to see what you think of it. I'm looking forward to reading it!

Brenna, it is the best challenge! I love it! The Neil Gaimen one sounds good - I should look into that one. I'm excited to see what everyone will be reading. I need to hurry and finish what I'm reading so I can start something spooky ASAP :)

Amanda, check it out! I've heard nothing but great things about it :)

Oh! I'm not sure if I'll do the challenge, but this definitely gets me in the mood to read some scary books! I'll have to put Discovery of Witches on my list, never heard of that one!

Yay! I love the RIP Challenge. A Discovery of Witches is a good choice. Can't wait to see what you think!

Christina, go for the challenge - you can read one book and that will count toward the Peril the Third level. Think about it :)

Amanda, YAY! Glad you are participating, too! And I'm excited that you said the book is good - I'm looking forward to it!

Looking forward to sharing some autumnal reads with you, Nadia. This always gets me in the mood for fall. This, and the current 101 degree days we've been enjoying for the start of September. ;)

I had The Discovery of Witches out from the library not too long ago but I couldn't renew it so it had to go back unread--three weeks is just not enough time for library books! I'm curious to know how you like it--I've heard varying things. Have fun choosing your other books--that's part of the fun--looking over those bookcases!

Bellezza, I'm looking forward to seeing what you'll be reading for this challenge. It's nice to read something spooky, because it gets you in the frame of mind that fall is near :)

Danielle, thanks for the heads up about the varying opinions on the Witches books. My fingers are crossed its a good read. I love looking over the bookshelves, because I always discover something to read that I forgot I had even bought. Definitely looking forward to enjoying this challenge :)
