Lowcountry Bombshell: A Liz Talbot Mystery by Susan M. Boyer

(Thank you to the publisher and TLC Book Tours for providing me with a copy of this book!)
about book:

Private Investigator Liz Talbot thinks she’s seen another ghost when she meets Calista McQueen. She’s the spitting image of Marilyn Monroe. Born precisely fifty years after the ill-fated star, Calista’s life has eerily mirrored the late starlet’s—and she fears the looming anniversary of Marilyn’s death will also be hers.

Before Liz can open a case file, Calista’s life coach is executed. Suspicious characters swarm around Calista like mosquitoes on a sultry lowcountry evening: her certifiable mother, a fake aunt, her control-freak psychoanalyst, a private yoga instructor, her peculiar housekeeper, and an obsessed ex-husband. Liz digs in to find a motive for murder, but she’s besieged with distractions. Her ex has marriage and babies on his mind. Her too-sexy partner engages in a campaign of repeat seduction. Mamma needs help with Daddy’s devotion to bad habits. And a gang of wild hogs is running loose on Stella Maris.

With the heat index approaching triple digits, Liz races to uncover a diabolical murder plot in time to save not only Calista’s life, but also her own.

my thoughts:

Lowcountry Bombshell is a part-romance, part-mystery novel that oozes southern charm and quirkiness.  It is the second book in the Liz Talbot Mystery series by Susan M. Boyer. Filled with interesting characters, a sassy protagonist who communicates with the dead, a Marilyn Monroe doppelganger, and a 'whodunit' mystery to solve, this is definitely one book you won't want to miss.  I know that I certainly enjoyed reading Boyer's book after a long and tedious day at work.  I would grab a glass of wine, find a cozy spot, and settle in to read all about Liz, Nate, Colleen and Calista - it was the highlight of my day!

After all who doesn't enjoy a well written mystery filled with crazy and suspicious characters - I know that I certainly do.  I found myself easily transported to the fictionalized island of Stella Maris and following Liz along her new adventure of solving her latest case - preventing the impending death of Calista McQueen, the Marilyn Monroe look-a-like.  With loads of distractions threatening to throw a wrench in her plans - both personal and professional - Liz has a LOT to deal with in Lowcountry Bombshell.  Oh, and did I mention the wild hogs running loose on the island -  what else can go wrong!

So, if you are looking for a fun and engaging read with an element of mystery and romance, then pick up a copy of Susan M. Boyer's latest book, Lowcountry Bombshell: A Liz Talbot Mystery.  Believe me, you won't be disappointed.

One book down and three more to go! Hurrah! My first read for R.I.P. VIII is complete.  There was a mystery and the paranormal, so Lowcountry Bombshell fit the bill for a R.I.P. read.    And now, I'm off to read something light and fun.  Happy reading!!

Of course there HAVE to be wild hogs running the island ... what story would be complete without that?! LOL

This sounds like a super fun read! Thanks for being on the tour.
