My Friday Five...

1.  BOTM - Book of the Month. I joined during the holidays, because the deal was too good to pass up.  However, I've already skipped two months.  I'm starting to think that BOTM is not for me.  This month's books are ones that I already own (Pachinko, The Animators - thank you NetGalley!); books I don't want to read (Perfect Little World, The Possessions); or a book that I'm not too sure about (Behind Her Eyes - I hear there is a paranormal slant and that made me lose some of my interest in it).  What do you think? Are you a fan of BOTM?

2.  Lady Gaga.  She is going to rock the Super Bowl and I can't wait to watch.  I wonder what songs she'll perform?  I am sure her costumes are going to be crazy!  I'll be rooting for the Atlanta Falcons!!

3.  I used to love this site, 3191 miles apart.  I had forgotten all about it, but stumbled upon it the other day.  Its two friends who live 3191 miles apart and they each post a photo of their day.  I loved the similarities in their photos - showed how connected they were even though they were opposite ends of the country.  They've published three books and I just bought a copy of their third one:

I just received my copy the other day and I can't wait to go through it.  Should be filled with some really lovely photos.  I chose their new book, because its titled, A Year Between Friends, and friendship has really been on my mind lately.  I'm hoping to renew and strengthen some of my friendships this year and I'm thinking this book will sort of help inspire me a bit.

4.  Lularoe.  Why is everyone so obsessed with these leggings?  I see them everywhere now.  A friend of mine is selling them and that is all she ever posts about on FB.  I finally ordered a pair and admit that they feel super soft, but I'm still wondering what all the fuss is about.  They do have tons of options - like, every object you can imagine is printed on a pair of these leggings (cats, teapots, peacock feathers, light bulbs, etc.).  And there are tops, dresses, and vests with names like Carly, Irma, and Monroe (I don't get the names).   I've noticed that everyone seems to be wearing them.  Will someone explain to me why they are all the rage?

5. TV shows.  I've been watching the last season of Grimm and LOVING it.  I am eager to find out more about that stick that Nick and Monroe found in Germany - what is it?!  And, I want to know just how many babies Rosalee is going to have?  It was kind of creepy with Diana told her that she had more than one in her stomach.  Watch:
Ladies of London - OMG!  What craziness!!  It was all hippy dippy, flower crowns, and a ton of caviar for these women in the last episode.  Oh, and there was plenty of shouting as well.  Seems that's how friends communicate nowadays.  RHOBH - what the what!?  Why is Eden so obsessed with Kim and Kyle?  I get that she is sober now and believes she can offer advice, but she also needs to accept the fact that they don't want it.  Leave them alone!  Seriously, you are not going to make friends by gossiping about the two of them to their friends.  I have to admit that Kyle's Great Gatsby party looked like fun.  How cool were the ladies dresses?!  Loved the fashion so hard in this episode!  And I just saw the new teaser for TWD.  It comes back on TV next weekend - Feb. 12!!  I can't wait to watch Rick and everyone get together and plan how they are going to FINALLY deal with Negan - woo hoo!!

And now I'm off to continue reading, Carve The Mark by Veronica Roth.   Happy reading!!

I tried Book of the Month out a while ago and had a similar experience but, when I did it, you couldn't skip a month.

I'm not into Lularoe - I think a lot of those leggings are ugly.

I love Lularoe. The leggings are just super comfortable, and I love finding fun patterns to wear. For me it's mostly about the comfort factor with the added bonus of being cute. I don't love all of their clothes, but my favorite shirt is the Irma. Because it's flowy and comfortable.

I hope Behind Her Eyes is good because I just got a copy at Target. It has mixed reviews, but I'm still going to try it.

Have a great weekend, Nadia!

Kathy, yes! BOTM sounds like a good idea, but when you get the selection of books it turns out not to be a good idea. That rots you didn't have to option to skip a month. I'm so glad I'm able to. I have to admit I laughed about the Lularoe leggings being ugly :) I have to admit that I do think a lot of them are ugly, too.

Brandie, I know. I've seen you post about them :) They do have tons of patterns to choose from. I don't get the names like Irma for a shirt, but I think its cool you've found that LLR works for you. I feel like they seem like lounge wear more than work wear.

I hope you enjoy Behind Her Eyes. It sounds really good. I just didn't like that there was a supernatural element to it - doesn't seem like that would fit with the story. Of course, I haven't read it, so who knows. Let me know how it is though.

Hope you have a fun weekend :)

OMG the BOTM club is still a thing?? I saw a box from The Strand I believe that sends you bookish stuff and a few books but I don't want random stuff. I much prefer to choose my reads. I am a book snob so I must select my reads or it just wouldn't work.

Ti, yes it is. I joined last Christmas because the deal was so good. Now, I'm wondering if I should have bothered. I never seem to want to read the books they offer. That box from The Strand sounds awesome! I know what you mean about being a book snob - I am, too! That's why I was always reluctant to join one of those book subscriptions.
