Hay-on-Wye, 1995. Peter
Byerly isn't sure what drew him into this particular bookshop. Nine months
earlier, the death of his beloved wife, Amanda, had left him shattered. The
young antiquarian bookseller relocated from North Carolina to the English
countryside, hoping to rediscover the joy he once took in collecting and
restoring rare books. But upon opening an eighteenth-century study of
Shakespeare forgeries, Peter is shocked when a portrait of Amanda tumbles
out of its pages. Of course, it isn't really her. The watercolor is clearly
Victorian. Yet the resemblance is uncanny, and Peter becomes obsessed with
learning the picture's origins.

Thanks!
Jennifer, I know, right? I've only read one of those two books and it wasn't Mockingbird. Good luck!
This one sounds amazing. I definitely want to read it. And my favorite book? Ever? I have to pick just one? Ok, let's go with Gone with the Wind.

Your giveaway is special and lovely. My favorite book is A Secret gift by Ted Gup. elliotbencan(at)hotmail(dot)com
Picking just one favorite is actually sort of difficult. How about my favorite so far this year? I think it's The Unchangeable Spots of Leopards...or Wild.
This book sounds great! My favorite book at the moment is The Stockholm Ocatavo ... and The Likeness.
The Bookman's Tale sounds fantastic...I am so psyched to read it! Its impossible for me to choose one favorite...I loved reading Shadow of the Wind, Hannah's Dream, and To Kill A Mockingbird. Looking forward to reading your review.
Beth :-)
Sounds so intriguing!
Fav book (since I was a child!)
Totto-chan: The Little Girl at the Window by Tetsuko Kuroyanagi

That does sound terrific! It's so hard to pick a favorite book but I'd say To Kill a Mockingbird or Little Women. kathy(at)bermudaonion.net
For me this is a difficult question, and it's impossible to list only one book. There are so many categories, from genre to time period in which the book was written to...well, you get the picture. So I'll choose two--so don't hold me to them-- The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald and Atonement by Ian McEwan. Gosh, I already feel guilty for leaving others out ;-).
Thanks for the opportunity to win The Bookman's Tale. It sounds like a terrific read.

Definitely sounds like a good one! My favorite book is Pride & Prejudice - one of the only books I've read repeatedly as an adult.
